A little bit about me: I’m Louise a glass and jewelry artist now retired. I made glass beads and cabochons and jewelry for 30 years and muse about my journey as well as navigating life in my 70’s. You can also find me on Instagram and YouTube. And see a retrospective of my jewelry on my website.
The week was relatively quiet until Thursday when we took off for a long weekend in Chicago. The reason for the trip was attending our second scheduled dinner at Next Restaurant. This one was celebrating the chef Mossimo Buttura whose Italian Restaurant, Osteria Francescana, was considered the number one restaurant in the world - TWICE. He was also Time100 most influential people in 2019.

Shorts and a t-shirt (the uniform). Nothing is new in 2025. I must point out that the top in the first photo is a silk blend tank top from a company that doesn’t exist anymore - Doncaster. Doncaster was a brand that was sold only by reps usually in their homes. The quality and classic styling was superb. I bought that top in 2000 and it is still going strong. The price tag was high at $225.00 but the cost per wear now is $2.96.
Below the paywall is what I wore in Chicago.
