What I Wore Last Week

Hello and welcome to my series of Weekly Capsule Wardrobe. It is a series of what I’m wearing every week in 2025 and is posted every Wednesday. I also just launched my Studio Saturday series which highlights my flameworking and art jewelry. My free posts come out every Sunday.

Use my outfits as inspiration to shop your own closet and put together outfits or just peek into my 70ish year-old fashion style.

To gain full access to all of these posts with links to items, plus access to exclusive editions of my musings consider upgrading to a paid subscription - THANKS!

A little bit about me: I’m Louise a glass and jewelry artist now retired. I made glass beads and cabochons and jewelry for 30 years and muse about my journey as well as navigating life in my 70’s. You can also find me on Instagram and YouTube. And see a retrospective of my jewelry on my website.

Just returned from 2 weeks in Greece. The jetlag is real and my brain is in a fog. But of course, I did get dressed - without much thought.

Monday

top - Veronica Beard | shorts - Everlane | espadrills - old

Well, I just picked out the first things I saw and threw them on. The top by Veronica Beard is new. And the shorts from Everlane are 2 - 3 years old. Grab them - they are on sale and wash up beautifully.

Today I will spend time doing laundry and grocery shopping - the result of a 2-week vacation in Europe. I’ll probably nap too. The reality is that it is super-hot in Tucson right now and “shorts and a t-shirt” is my uniform. I get dressed up with more intention for evening events or the occasional lunch date. But daytime outings in the summer are kept to a minimum. For years I have toyed with the idea of spending a few weeks away in the cooler mountains a few hours away from Tucson. I will definitely do some research soon and plan something for next year.

Behind the paywall this week is the rest of the week’s outfits with links and a special link to an influencer who inspired some of my recent purchases. I also want to begin to think about prefall. That brings me to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Do you shop it? Below I will list some items I am considering. Last year I was actually in Chicago for the event and as luck had it the Nordstrom store was next to our hotel (I actually planned it that way!). I spent my budget on skin care items I wanted to try. It’s a good way to try new things without paying full price. I am now hooked on Augustinus Bader rich cream and it’s in the Nordstom Anniversary sale at a nice discount.
