Hello and welcome to my series of Weekly Capsule Wardrobe. It is a series of what I’m wearing every week in 2025 and is posted every Wednesday. I also just launched my Studio Saturday series which highlights my flameworking and art jewelry. My free posts come out every Sunday.

Use my outfits as inspiration to shop your own closet and put together outfits or just peek into my 70ish year-old fashion style.

A little bit about me: I’m Louise a glass and jewelry artist now retired. I made glass beads and cabochons and jewelry for 30 years and muse about my journey as well as navigating life in my 70’s. You can also find me on Instagram and YouTube. And see a retrospective of my jewelry on my website.

I have stated before that I am working towards a capsule wardrobe that exemplifies my personal style. I have narrowed down my personal style by following the concept of stylist Allison Bornstein. That is a 3-word description of your style. And each piece of clothing in your closet should represent those words. My 3 words are Classic Chic Artsy.

Some people find the 3 words too restrictive, but I find them comforting. And I have gone so far as creating "uniforms" with items in my closet that create a go to outfit especially when I am struggling to get dressed.

As you are aware summertime in Tucson makes it a little difficult to get dressed with intention and flair. So, my last couple of weeks showed some pretty basic shorts and t-shirt outfits. They were comfy and fine for the weather. But I decided I wanted to up my panache in my weekly outfits. And I came across an article by Kelly Williams about Cohesion dressing. I like the concept but feel my take on it might be more “Coherence Dressing”. Just a subtle difference.

In essence, cohesion and coherence both relate to how well ideas are connected in text, but they differ in scope. Cohesion refers to the surface-level connections between sentences and paragraphs, often achieved through grammatical and lexical devices like pronouns, conjunctions, and repeated words. Coherence, on the other hand, refers to the underlying logical flow of ideas and the overall understandability of the text. A text can be cohesive (sentences are linked) but incoherent (ideas don't make sense together).

Monday

Still a shorts and t-shirt outfit. but I did add a necklace! a caged bead on a stainless-steel cable. I love this Zadig and Voltaire graphic t-shirt. I linked this year’s color which I almost bought. Navy shorts from Everlane. And silver sandals from Tory Burch.

Below the paywall you’ll see the whole week’s outfits and a little more about cohesion dressing.
