Valentine's Day
So I have never really been a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I always thought it was a made up holiday. I even remember in the first years of my marriage I thought spending a lot of money on flowers was just a waste of money. IF I could go back now I would erase that prudent sensible person and insist on being wooed. But that’s another story.
Fast forward to this year. Wednesday is our usual date night so because it was Valentine’s Day was just a bonus. I decided to pay homage to the day by getting a manicure with OPI “New York Red” polish. I also decided a red lip would be good.
Therefore my outfit was black to make sure the red popped.
I almost bought this sweater instead.
But in the end the manicure and lipstick was cheaper and did the trick. We had a wonderful dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. And I also got a beautiful bouquet of flowers
.
But this year we started celebrating Valentines Day a little earlier with a glass blowing class at our local Tucson glass school. They were offering a class to make heart shaped paper weights. You might know that I am a lampworkd glass artist so I am familiar around fire. And my husband is a fan. Have you seen the show Blown Away? It’s a reality competition show with glass blowers. Highly recommend it. Anyway we had a blast.
Do you need something to binge watch?
Do you know the actress Nicola Walker? I first saw her in the TV series Last Tango in Halifax. Well I saw someone on Facebook recommend the series the Split. So I decided to try it - even got a trial subscription to Hulu. And I just finished binge watching it. Boy would I love to discuss it with someone. I might even watch it again.
That’s what I have been up to. Thanks for reading.
