I’m in your inbox on Easter Sunday. And I am wishing you the Happiest Easter Sunday ever. Whether you are alone reading a book, or watching Netflix, or with family indulging in Easter treats; I hope your day is fantastic.
It is actually raining here in Tucson today and quite chilly for the end of March. Our Grandson is off doing Easter stuff so I’m home with a good book, and some chores to accomplish.
Easter Sunday was a special day when I was growing up. My Italian Grandmother would cook the whole week. We would have “Pizza Rustica” but we called it ham pie because that’s what my grandmother liked to use in it. Take a look at Giade de Laure as she makes her version.
She would also make a ricotta pie. I wish I had her recipe but she never wrote anything down. This is a close version.
And of course “Lemon knot cookies”. That was all in addition to the baked ham, au gratin potatoes, asparagus and homemade Italian bread.
This year I made nothing. We are treating it as another normal Sunday.
Ear Piercing Update
I did it. It’s been a month and everything couldn’t have gone better. Next week I have an appointment to change out the earring backs as they use longer than usual posts to account for possible swelling. I’m also excited to shop for new earrings.

My “Colors” are finalized
Do you remember when getting your colors done in the 80’s was a big thing? Well I tried it and was classified as an Autumn. And that might have been the case back then. But now my hair is gray and certain colors were just not resonating anymore so I decided to do it again. I happened to be on Facebook and ended up on a group called “Colors in style by Kari Community”. I love the fashion groups on Facebook and really love this group of ladies too. And if you click through to Kari’s website you can book an online color consultation.
I am so glad I did this. I think I was a challenge for her, but after sending her several photos we met by Zoom where I leaned I was a Cool. Besides the traditional seasonal groups that one can fall in there are other ways to hone in on color. “Cool” is between Summer and Winter and my subcatagory is smoky. She sends you a report that includes ideal makeup colors and you can even order a fan of colors to take with you while you shop. Here is my digital fan. Camel was a color I was trying to wear and people always asked me if I was feeling well. NO camel in this palette.
In addition to color I learned about value contrast, color contrast, and which color scheme works best for me. All very interesting. Now I need to put it all together to create some fantastic outfits.
And some famous cool types - Queen Elizabeth II, Elizabeth Taylor, and Helen Mirren.
Thanks for reading…. Tell me your favorite Easter trreat.
