Song of Songs by Marc Chagall

Hello and welcome to my series of Weekly Capsule Wardrobe. It is a series of what I’m wearing every week in 2025 and is posted every Wednesday. I also just launched my Studio Saturday series which highlights my flameworking and art jewelry. My free posts come out every Sunday.

Use my outfits as inspiration to shop your own closet and put together outfits or just peek into my 70ish year-old fashion style.

A little bit about me: I’m Louise a glass and jewelry artist now retired. I made glass and jewelry for 30 years and muse about my journey as well as navigating life in my 70’s. You can also find me on Instagram @louiselittle

Still trying to perfect my style and put outfits together seamlessly. For the most part I think I have found my style. Yet I find that sometimes an outfit just doesn’t work. And why is that?

First of all, let’s go back to the word style. Style is not taste. Taste is the tools you use to define your personality. Style is how you reflect your personality, the little touches on an outfit… what you want your message to the world to be.

So, this week I focused on a base outfit and changed up the third piece to elevate the outfit. While lounging at home it was just the base. The third piece for going out. while I loved all of the pieces I chose to wear, I believe one outfit did not work.

The Base Outfit

Veronica Beard t shirt / Everlane pants

I love this Veronica Beard t shirt because of the ruched sleeves. I classify this piece as an elevated basic. The pants are the barrel style which you either hate or love. I’m liking this pair. So that’s my basic uniform …. pants or jeans and a sweater or t-shirt. It’s perfect for my relaxed casual lifestyle.

Below the pay line I’ll talk about the pieces I styled with this base for outings. And I’ll talk about the one pairing that didn’t seem to work for me which involves a little musing on color contrast.
